Phoebe Lin

Biosketch

I grew up near San Francisco, California, where lightning-initiated wildfires drew me to atmospheric sciences in August 2020. I now study pyrocumulonimbus (pyroCb) storms, or storms initiated by wildfire heating. During my undergrad, I majored in Atmospheric Sciences and Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and explored projects in extreme snowfall, derecho forecasting, and dry thunderstorms. I was also involved in lots of music at MIT, particularly relating to environmental themes. In my free time, you can find me listening to video game soundtracks, finding new ramen shops, and laying on the grass to watch clouds.
